School Rankings for the Niaraga Area

The Frasier Institute produces annual report cards for many of the Public and Catholic Schools in the Province of Ontario, there is a link below to view the school rankings for the Niagara Region.
Parents are urged to use this type of school rankings report as a guideline only and simply refer to the report as "one of many sources" to assess their children's school. Parents are encouraged to visit their local schools, talk to the teachers and principal. Visit the schools individual website and check out their activities and get a feel of the spirit and goals of the school. Local communities also play an important part in our children's lives, with extra activities offered at community centres, churches, social clubs, just to name a few. SCHOOL SCORES: The Frasier Institute ranks schools on a scale of 0 to 10. Keep in mind that the provincial average was 6 with the highest score earned by the York's Catholic and public boards earning 7.4 and 7.1.
How the Report Works: It Ranks Schools by academic performance for an over rating out of 10. It covers a 5 year period starting from 2003. In some cases will provide a trend indicator, whether there has been an overall improvement or decline in performance.

Which School Ranked the Highest for the Niagara Region?
St. Edward Catholic School in Jordon ranked 51 out of the 2,786 schools tested. Virgil School ranked an impressive 63, however in the next 2 years Virgil maybe consolidated with the nearby Col. John Butler School in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Virgil tied with Michael J. Brennan Catholic School in St. Catharines in the rankings. That's an accomplishment when considering the great number of schools tested.
