Canadian homebuyers can save money by using term life insurance to insure their mortgage. Term life premiums are non-taxable, and it also offers the advantage of the homebuyer naming the beneficiary. You have the option of buying a term life policy that converts into whole life insurance once the term expires; many of these will not ask any additional medical questions.
